She crawls to him and takes his hand
He brushes her cheek so soft
Their lips meet to breathe as one
Tipsily she's forgot
She'll pretend it's all okay
That the mascara won't run down her face
She'll surrender to his kisses, his show of love
She'll put on a different face

They break away and he passes out
She's left to stare at the remains
The drink is normally her cure for depression
But now it's causing her pain
Her friends smile and she smiles back
Ignoring the ugly truth
Her made up face and revealing clothes
All point to self abuse
A target for negative emotions
You can see the ugly scars
She loves him, he says he loves her
And when she drinks she laughs
